About Jayson R. Elliott

From Air Force flight line to eBay's datacenter, from Silicon Valley co-founder to California courtroom — the biography is the credential.

Jayson R. Elliott — Attorney and Entrepreneur, Palo Alto California

Jayson R. Elliott

California Attorney · Managing Director, Bay Legal PC · Founder & Chief Architect, XPRTS

Most attorneys who write about technology have read about it. Jayson Elliott built it. Before he ever passed the California bar, he had already served as Director of Datacenter Operations for eBay, Inc., co-founded two Silicon Valley tech startups — one during the dot-com boom, one in the social media wave — and consulted for Lockheed Martin, HP, and their predecessors on the infrastructure that underpins modern enterprise computing.

He holds a Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law alongside a Master of Business Administration from California State University Stanislaus and a Master's in International Finance from Université de Cergy-Pontoise in France. He began his professional life at 18 as a U.S. Air Force aircraft mechanic, seven days out of high school.

Today, Jayson serves as Managing Director of Bay Legal, PC — a California law firm that grew 4× in 2025 — and Founder of XPRTS, the legal operations company built inside Bay Legal and now offered to other law firms. He has launched and managed multiple cryptocurrency ventures, including international Bitcoin mining operations and the Enterprise Backed Dividend Token (EBDT) structure.

"I built tech companies before I became a lawyer. I've run datacenters, launched tokens, hired globally, and litigated in California courts. When I write about AI or law firm operations or blockchain, I'm writing from all of that — not from one lane. That's what this site is for."

Why This Site Exists

The Purpose of This Platform

There are two kinds of legal thought leadership: practitioners who write about what they actually do, and commentators who write about what others do. This site is the first kind. Every essay, video, and framework here comes from active California practice — disputes Jayson has handled, systems he has built, and technologies he has navigated as both an operator and an attorney.
